As a Heavy Civil Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately estimating costs for grading and paving projects in the North Alabama area. Your exceptional analytical skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team of estimators, suppliers, and subcontractors will contribute to our success.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare precise cost estimates for grading, paving, and underground utility projects, utilizing industry-standard software and methodologies.
• Thoroughly analyze project specifications and drawings to identify project requirements and develop accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to establish project budgets and timelines.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to acquire accurate pricing information for materials and labor.
• Evaluate and negotiate bids and proposals from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring the best value for the project.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including cost estimates, change orders, and submittals.
• Continuously monitor project costs to proactively identify and address potential cost overruns.
• Actively participate in project meetings to ensure all stakeholders are well-informed and engaged in project progress.
• Provide valuable input and recommendations for project design and construction methods to optimize cost efficiency.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in grading, paving, and underground estimating, demonstrating a strong track record of success.
• Extensive knowledge of grading equipment, materials, and techniques.
• Proficiency in cost estimating, including the ability to develop accurate cost estimates and budgets.
• Preferred experience in highway construction, further enhancing your understanding of the field.
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, HCSS, and AGTEK software to effectively perform job responsibilities.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to heavy civil and highway projects, ensuring compliance throughout the estimation process.

The posted salary or pay compensation ranges are approximate and dependent on applicable experience and qualifications. Upper ranges are flexible.
